How Divi Page Builder works?

As I discussed in the article “How to choose the best WordPress Page Builder?” that most of the Page Builder allow you to design your webpage using them as back-end editors or/and front-end editors – Divi Builder also supports both the formats. It offers:

  • The standard “Back-end Builder” is an interface that supports all the features from within the WordPress dashboard, and
  • The front-end “Visual Builder” is the Page Builder interface that allows all the features as a front-end tool.

First of all both the interfaces offer same features. The only difference is of interface itself. You will be able to create exactly the same types of websites having the same content elements and design settings, by using either of them.

The Back-end Builder houses itself inside WordPress Dashboard. While using “Back-end builder” other wordpress features are also accessible as it confines itself inside the WordPress user interface. You will be able to make quick changes right from within the wordpress dashboard. It might also get limited to WordPress dashboard.

Since both back-end and visual-builder offer the same elements and features, learning one can enable you to use other one on your own, so this article will take into account – “Visual-Builder”.

What is Visual Builder?

Will provide you with amazing experience – and you will never say that you need an expert to design your webpage. It has lot to offer, you will be able to:

  • Create and design very fast.
  • Add content or adjust design settings right from the visual builder and will also be able to see your changes reflect instantly.
  • Select the desired page – highlight text and you will be able to adjust its font and style.
  • Add new content,
  • Build your page and best part you will be able to see how things will look like on a live site, while making changes.

Elements of Divi Page Builder

What makes any page builder powerful is the number of elements it supports and accompanying interface. The power of Divi’s Page Builder lies in its drag and drop interface and a best collection of elements. All y ou are required is put these content elements – they way you want.

Divi’s Page Builder comes with three main building blocks, these are:

  • Sections – largest building blocks

Sections are used to group related content together. Sections are of three types: Regular (consists of rows of columns), Specialty (for more advanced sidebar layouts) and Full Width (takes the width of the entire screen).

  • Rows – Rows dive inside these sections to provide sections with kind of sub-sections.

Rows go inside sections. There is no limit to the number of rows that can be nested inside a section. You will be able to choose column-types to divide the rows further into set of columns – where you will be able to place different modules. There is no limit on the number of modules that can be placed inside a column.

  • Modules – Module is another subset that rests inside rows.

Divi has a rich array of modules – which are the content elements that need to be put together to make your website. These modules shrink and expand to fit into any column width making them fully responsive.

There are more than 45 content modules to choose from – Accordian, Audio Player, Bar Counter, Button, Blog, Call To Action, Comments, Code, Contact Form, Gallery, Image, Divider, Login, Google Map and many others.

Sections, Rows and Modules are thus containers that make up the entire website of your choice. You will be able to drag and drop these modules anywhere to create countless page layouts.

Steps to create a web page layout – using Divi Page Builder

First Add a Section

While creating a new page, then your first section will be added automatically, more sections can be added just clicking a (+)  blue button. Section is the first thing you add to your page.

There is no limit to the number of section, purely depends upon your design and requirement.

Second Add a Row – to an already added section

You will be required to add a row(s) of columns to a desired already added section. To add a row you will be required to click a (+) green button, followed by that choose the required column types.

Add modules – to already added row

Once row has been added to a section, you are ready to add specific modules required – inside row you added to a section. Choose the required module from the collection of content modules it could be simple text, button or complex content modules like sliders, accordions, eCommerce shopping carts or portfolio galleries – options are many to address almost all the issues.

Last but not the least save your web page to save all the page layout settings and you are done.

Page builders are a great option to create painlessly any web page layout with ease and comfort. Divi Page Builder is my one of the favorites to create flawless and awesome web pages inminutes.
